Troubleshooting: Allocation Rules

You run into these errors about locked months when you try to change allocation rules:
  • This rule impacts locked months in 1 or more versions....
  • You tried to add or remove locked months from the scope...
Cause
Solution
The versions have a
Hidden
access control for your user type and doesn't display in the scope.
  1. Select
    Modeling
    from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Versions
    .
  3. From the toolbar, click
    Export version access
    .
  4. Open the spreadsheet.
  5. Use the Find function of Excel to search for Hidden.
  6. For the versions with
    Hidden
    , you can either:
    • Update the version access for your user type to
      Full Access
      . See Lock, Archive, or Hide Versions with Version Access Controls.
    • Get a user who already has
      Full Access
      to to review the scope of the allocation rules and remove the version if necessary.
    • Create a new rule that applies to only unlocked versions.
The versions are locked with the:
  • Locked version
    check box.
  • Access Controls
    for your user type.
  • Lock Leading Months Through
    option.
Update the version access for your user type to
Full Access
, or unlock the version. See Lock, Archive, or Hide Versions with Version Access Controls.
