Tag Accounts with Attribute Values

Tag Accounts with Attribute Values

Account attributes group data associated with accounts differently than the account hierarchy. You can achieve this result by tagging accounts with attribute values. When related accounts exist in the general ledger hierarchy, cube sheets, and custom account hierarchy, you can get the rollup value of specific accounts across the hierarchies by tagging those accounts with an attribute.
Example: Create an attribute, called Taxable Income. Then create values: Yes and No. Tag various accounts in various hierarchies with Yes. You can now use the attribute Taxable Income to report on all accounts tagged with the Yes attribute value.
  1. Select
    Modeling
    from the main menu.
  2. To get to an account hierarchy, click
    • General Ledger Accounts
      ,
      Custom Accounts
      ,
      Assumptions
      , or
      Metric Accounts
      .
    • Level Assigned Sheets
      or
      User Assigned Sheets
      >
      Edit
      by the sheet name >
      Cube Accounts
      or
      Modeled Accounts
      .
  3. Highlight the account.
You can tag a parent account, an account group, or individual leaf level accounts. When you tag a parent or group, you automatically tag all the child accounts.
  4. From the
    Details
    panel, expand the
    Account Attributes
    section.
Each account attribute is a separate drop-down prompt.
  5. From the drop-down prompts, select the the attribute value.
  6. Save.
The data of the account is tagged with attribute value. You can now report on the attribute value to pull the data of all accounts tagged with the attribute value.
