Account Details Section
Field | Description |

Code
| A unique combination of letters, numbers, and underscores. You can't use spaces or other special characters. If left blank for imports, Adaptive Planning auto-generates the code. |
Name
| Displays on sheets, reports, and charts. The name doesn’t need to be unique. For words to avoid and other guidelines, see Reference: Naming Conventions Best Practices. |
Short Name
| Any combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Overrides the display name of the account for dashboard charts when the account name is long. |
Rolls up to
| Indicates the parent account. |

| Available for cumulative leaf accounts. Sets how you enter data in the sheet cells of actuals versions:

Links to
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Lists modeled and cube accounts that populate the account as an aggregated value. |
Add Linked Accounts or Edit Linked Accounts
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Displays when you add or edit links in the Links to content box. Use the prompts to select source sheets, then the accounts on the sheet. |
Change Sign +/-
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Pulls the inverse value of the highlighted link, which subtracts rather than sums. Example: Accumulated depreciation is a positive value in a modeled sheet. When linked to a General Ledger account, you can flip the sign so that it displays as a negative value in your General Ledger. |
Apply Dimension Value
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Applies dimension values that don't exist on the highlighted source sheet to the data. |
Link Filters/Linked Filters
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Pulls in only the data that tagged with the dimension or attribute that you select from the drop-down prompts. |
Override links for specific version
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Activates the link override fields so that you can enter data in linked accounts for specific versions. |
Link Version Selector
| Required: Select Override Links for Specific Versions check box. Provides list of plan versions. Select the version that you want to enable for data entry for the linked account. Data entry overrides remove the links and enable you to enter data for the account in sheets, through imports, and with Predictive Forecaster. Read-only if the account has no links. |
Override Link Setting

Time Rollup
|
Linked accounts inherit the time rollup of the source account. |
Level/Dimension Rollup
| Sets how the account calculates the totals for level and dimension rollups. Example: Total Company is a level that has 3 child levels: Sales, Manufacturing, and IT. You enter 100, 200, and zero for each level respectively. At the top-level, select how you would like Total Company to display the rollup value:
Linked accounts inherit the level and dimension rollup of the source account. |
Weighted By
| Required when the Level/Dimension Rollup is Weighted average of rollup values .Provides the weighted average of the time or dimension rollup. |
Display Text
| Required when Level/Dimension rollup is Text .
Provides the text that displays for dimension rollups. Enter any kind of text, such as NA or --, or leave blank. |
Enable actuals
| Available for leaf accounts. Unavailable for linked accounts. Displays actuals data over the plan data of plan versions. |
No actuals for account
| Available for leaf accounts. Available for leaf accounts that aren't linked. Displays only plan data in plan versions. Formulas for accounts without actuals overlay result in blank data when the formula references actuals data, including cells in the sheet with actuals overlay. |
Enable actuals for link
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Displays actuals data over the plan data for plan versions in both the source and target accounts. |
Show actuals if linked accounts has them
| Available for linked leaf accounts. Displays actuals data over the plan data for plan versions only when the source account has actuals enabled already. |
Specify Default Formulas
| Available for leaf accounts with actuals overlay. Assigns shared formulas to the account for each level in actuals versions. On sheets, you can still override the shared formula with other formulas or values that you enter. |

| Available for leaf accounts. Assigns shared formulas to planning versions by level. |
View Dependencies
| Indicates where the model references the account:

Account Attributes

Default Formula/Override Formula
| Available for leaf accounts. Read-only for locked or archived versions. Unavailable for cube-entered accounts. Calculates the value of the account through a formula across all levels and all versions. You can change the default formula or create an override for a specific version. You can't override the formula in sheets. For cube accounts, we don't recommend that you create formulas that reference system accounts. Weighted-Average Translation
| Available for leaf level, cumulative accounts with Delta for Plan by and Actuals by and a default formula.Unavailable for cube-entered accounts. Converts currencies by the average rate per period on the delta of cumulative accounts. Generally references a periodic account in the default formula and provides a way to convert the currency of periodic data in cumulative accounts. |
Reset Balance
| Requires Weighted Average Translation .Resets the balance to zero at the specified time period. At the start of the next period, the account starts accumulating again. Select the time period. Available options are based on the calendar setup of your model, typically Month, Quarter, Year. |
Transfer Balance on Reset
| Requires Reset Balance .Transfers the accumulated balance to another account. Select the account to receive the balance transfer. |
Decimal Places
| Indicates the number of decimal places for the data:

Exchange Rate
| Required when Currency's Precision is the Decimal Places setting.Determines how to convert currencies for the account. Select:
