Concept: Start, Manage, and Finish Legacy Processes
The functionalities in this topic relate to the legacy workflow and process tracker feature. We recommend that you uptake configurable workflows, a new framework that enables you to design, orchestrate, and execute planning cycles. You can create reusable workflow definitions using a graphical builder, assign tasks dynamically to users, user groups or associations, and manage the entire lifecycle within Hubs. Users can start progress on tasks and complete tasks immediately upon task creation because processes don't use start dates. To help prevent users from starting before you finish creating the entire process, leave the
Auto-send task notifications
check box cleared when you create the process. Once the process is in progress, process administrators can still:
- Add, change, or delete notes from tasks.
- Add or remove attachments from tasks.
- Add or remove group members from groups assigned to group tasks. Adaptive Planning automatically updates the task percent completion and adjusts the assignees.When you add members to a group with a completed task, those new members see the task as complete. These members can still change their task status toIncomplete.
- Change the content of tasks. Example: A task points to the P&L sheet. Change the task so that it points to the Expenses report.
- Change the due date of tasks.
- Change assignees for individual tasks.
- Delete the process.
- Manually move standard tasks toIncompleteorCompletestatus.
- Send ad hoc notifications to assignees.
Processes don't use effective end dates so that your processes remain lightweight, enabling you to manage your use cases with more flexibility. After users complete all tasks and the target date passes, process administrators and participants can still interact with tasks the same way. Example: Process administrators can still change assignees of completed tasks after the target date passes. Assignees can still mark completed tasks as incomplete.
