Create and Maintain Grouped Filters

Create and Maintain Grouped Filters

  • For grouped filters and grouping criteria, see Concept: Hubs Context Filters.
  • The hub is in edit mode and is either a personal hub or a hub you've checked out.
  • The hub contains at least 2 pages with a compatible filter for the dimension you want to group. The filter must use the same dimension and the same selection mode (single-select or multi-select) on each participating page.
  • Security:
    Edit Hubs
    permission.
As a hub admin, you can create grouped filters to link filters for the same dimensions across eligible pages.
After you create a grouped filter, filters on participating pages are linked to the group. Hub users can group or ungroup the filter in view mode.
  1. Select
    Hubs
from the main menu and open a personal hub or a checked-out hub in edit mode.
  2. Open a page that shows the filter you want to group in the filter toolbar.
  3. Click the filter link icon to open the grouped filters menu.
  4. Select
    Create New Grouped Filter
    .
The create dialog opens with default values. Workday prefills the name as
    {Dimension} (Single-select)
    or
    {Dimension} (Multi-select)
    and preselects eligible pages.
  5. (Optional) Rename the group and select which eligible pages participate.
For a page that has more than one parameter for the same dimension, select which parameter instance follows the group.
  6. Set a default selection, or leave it unset so pages start from their own defaults.
  7. Click
    Save
    and
    Done
    .
  8. To add a filter to an existing group:
    1. In edit mode, open the group menu from the filter pill or from hub settings.
    2. Select
      Add to Existing Grouped Filter
and choose the group to join.
    3. Confirm the page or parameter mapping for the newly added filter, then save.
  9. To edit or delete a grouped filter:
    1. In edit mode, open the group menu and select
      Edit Grouped Filter
to change the name, participating pages, or per-page parameter mapping.
    2. To remove one filter from the group without deleting it, use
      Remove from Grouped Filter
      for that filter.
    3. To delete the whole group, select
      Delete Grouped Filter
. A confirmation dialog the group is removed.
