Collaborate Within Dashboards

The Comments feature in Dashboards enables you to have real-time interactions and more efficient data-driven decision-making within the platform. You can add comments directly to dashboard widgets and tag colleagues for immediate feedback and discussion. When tagged, users receive in-product notifications and emails.
If the tagged users have their Adaptive Planning notifications integrated with Slack, they can:
  • Get notified immediately in Slack.
  • Click the Slack message and from there navigate to Adaptive to the specific chat location on a dashboard. They might have to log in to Adaptive.
  • Respond to the original comment; edit their own comment; tag other users; and save. You can delete your own comments. Users with the Edit Dashboard permission can delete any comment from anyone.
Tagged uses also get these notifications in their Adaptive Planning.
See <add x-ref to article that discusses integrating AP notifications with Slack>.
  1. Select
    Dashboards
    from the main menu.
  2. Click a perspective to open it or create a new one. See Create Perspectives.
  3. Hover over a widget that you want to analyze and click the chat icon.
  4. Enter your comment and tag the users you want to notify.
  5. (Optional) To access all comments, click the
    Comment
    icon on the dashboard perspective.
  6. (Optional) To see the exact data that the commentor saw when they made the comments, select the Filter icon in a comment and click
    Apply
. This displays the same filters that were on the dashboard when the original commentor added a comment for a widget on that dashboard.
  7. (Optional). To resolve comments, click the
    Resolve Thread
check mark icon on the widget. The resolved comments are moved to the
    Comments
thread. You can also resolve comments directly from the
    Comments
    thread.
After you resolve comments, the check mark icon turns green.
