Create a Waterfall Chart with Subtotals
- Create Perspectives, or have edit access to shared perspectives.
- SecurityEdit Dashboardspermission.
You can enable
Multiple Variance Accounts
in a Waterfall chart to add multiple variance accounts including subtotals. Example: You can have a waterfall chart that shows the initial, current, and projected change to headcount using an intermediate subtotal to visualize the current headcount value.- SelectDashboardsfrom the main menu.
- Select a perspective to open.
- ClickEditto put your dashboard in edit mode.
- On the left panel, click theChartstab, then drag and drop theWaterfall Chartfrom the Charts in the left panel into the dashboard.
- In theAppearance Settingstab, selectMultiple Variance Accounts.
- (Optional) Select theSubtotal Colorto set the subtotal column color.
- In theData Settingstab, add anOpening Accountas the initial value of the waterfall chart.
- UnderVariance Accounts, clickAddto add variance values.You can select a parent account to include each children account as individual variance values.
- UnderVariance Accounts, clickAdd.
- In theDisplayfield, selectSubtotal.TheSubtotaloption visualizes the account as an intermediate subtotal column.
- Add aClosing Accountto use as the final value of the waterfall chart.
