Create Fan Charts to Compare Scenarios with Versions

  • Create Perspectives, or have edit access to shared perspectives.
  • Security
    Edit Dashboards
    permission.
You can use fan charts to:
  • Visualize variances for forecast versions compared to a reference version.
  • Compare scenarios by visualizing a range of outcomes.
  1. Click
    Edit
    to put your dashboard in edit mode.
  2. On the left panel, click the
    Charts
    tab, then drag and drop the
    Fan Chart
    from the Charts in the left panel into the dashboard.
  3. Give the fan chart a name in the
    Appearance Settings
    tab.
  4. Click the
    Data Settings
    tab.
  5. Click
    Add
    to select an account to visualize.
  6. Click the
    Appearance Settings
    tab.
  7. In the
    Reference Value
    section, select a
    Version
    to use as a reference value.
    Example: Budget for 2024
  8. In the
    Comparison Value
    section, add one or more values to visualize variances for forecast versions.
    Example: You can add best and worse case budget scenarios to visualize the ranges compared to the reference version.
