Rich Text in Hubs Overview and Dashboards Text Box Widget

Preview Date: 2026-08-15
For Adaptive Planning Hubs and Dashboards, we now deliver a richer text widget built on the Lexical rich-text editor. Hubs and dashboard builders can:
  • Format content.
  • Link to internal assets such as sheets or reports and external URLs.
  • Add images that scale across devices.

Business Benefits

  • Enables Hubs and dashboard builders to create clearer, more structured content.
  • Helps planners navigate directly from overview content to dashboards, hubs pages, reports, and sheets linked in the widget.
  • For hubs only, keeps reference images and supporting visuals in the overview with responsive sizing across devices.
  • Reduces layout issues from pasted external content through sanitized paste handling.

Changes

Hubs and dashboard builders can:
  • Use a new formatting toolbar when you select the text widget in edit mode.
  • Paste content into the text widget without breaking the hub layout.
  • Insert inline links to dashboards, hubs, reports, sheets, and valid external sites based on shared or accessible items.
  • Upload images into the overview text widget. You can resize, reposition, and delete images inline.
  • Author hub overview content in a widget that starts at a minimum height and grows to fit content as you type.
End users can access text content in view-only mode when you open a shared hub or shared dashboard.

What Do I Need to Do?

As administrators, confirm that hub builders have:
  • The Edit Hubs or Edit Dashboards permission to use the updated text widget. No migration action is required for existing text content.
  • Access to the dashboards, hub pages, reports, and sheets they intend to link from content.

What Happens If I Do Nothing?

Existing hubs overview pages and existing configured dashboard text widgets continue to work. When the Lexical-based overview text widget is available in your instance, builders see the updated editing experience on the overview text widget in edit mode. End users continue to view overview content in read-only mode. Users without access to linked objects do not see or select those items when creating links.
