Metric Account Formula Optimizations

Workday Adaptive Planning now routes metric accounts with certain formula patterns to an optimized calculation path. The change applies to metric accounts whose formula has a discriminant that contains a dimension or dimension attribute=this.

- Improves performance by evaluating qualifying metric account formulas on an optimized calculation path.
- Helps reports, sheets, and data exports that use these metric accounts complete faster.
Changes
- Metric accounts where formulas include a discriminant that contains a dimension or dimension attribute=this now route to an optimized calculation path.
- You can see expected number differences in these scenarios:
- The requested dimensionality is now retained and specific rows for all dimension values, not only the dimension Uncategorized and dimension Rollup values are returned.
- When you specify a level dimension in a metric account discriminant but that level dimension isn't present on the receiving cube, additional rows are returned when you query for the level dimension.
What Do I Need to Do?
If you use metric accounts with a dimension or dimension attribute=this discriminant:
- Identify reports, sheets, dashboards, and data exports that reference those metric accounts.
- Compare results for the two scenarios described in Changes.
- Communicate any expected row or value differences to planners and integration owners as needed.
What Happens If I Do Nothing?
You don't need to change formulas or security. Affected reports and exports might show different rows or values in the scenarios described in Changes.
