Steps: Create Table from a Workday Report

area.You can create a table based on an existing Workday custom report by selecting a
report as the schema source. Workday retains only the fields with field types that
tables currently support.
When you create a table from a report, you can:
- Add other fields to the table schema.
- Create a data change task to load data from the report into the new table.
- Access theData Catalogreport.
- Select .
- Enter theTable Name. You can change the table name when you edit the table.
- (Optional) Change theTable API Name.Workday automatically selects an API name based on the table name that you enter, modifying it to make it meet the name requirements. ClickChangeto change the API name. You can’t change this name after you finish creating the table.
- (Optional) SelectEnable for Analysisto create a Prism data source using the data in this table.Workday recommends enabling a table for analysis after:
- You apply the appropriate data source security to the table.
- The table contains the data that you want and receives new and updated data from a data change task.
- (Optional) Create or edit 1 or moreTagsto organize the table in the Data Catalog.
- (Optional) Add aDescriptionto help others understand what data this table contains.
- On theSelect Schema Sourcestep, selectWorkday Report.
- Select the Workday custom report.
- On theEdit Schemastep, review the fields Workday created based on the report, and modify the fields if necessary.Select a field in the list and view the field details in the inspector panel on the right side.
- (Optional) ClickAdd Fieldto add 1 or more fields. In the inspector panel for the field, configure the field attributes.
Workday creates an empty table using the schema defined in the report.
Create a data change task using the same report as the source to load data into the table from
the report.
