Set Up Management Level Hierarchies

domain in the Jobs & Positions functional area.You can use management levels to categorize job profiles based on management types, or compare similar roles across an organization. Example: A particular job profile belongs to the
Director
management level, while another job profile belongs to the Individual Contributor
level. When you create a new hierarchy using existing management levels, you still must assign the management levels to job profiles.- Access theMaintain Management Typestask.
- Set up the management types that you want to include in the management level hierarchy. Example:Chief Executive Officer,Director,Manager, andIndividual Contributor.
Once management types are in use, you can rename but not delete them. - Access theCreate Management Level Hierarchytask.
- In theManagement Typeprompt, select a management type to use as the name of your hierarchy, and create the hierarchy.
- Select from the related actions menu of the management hierarchy name.
- In theManagement Typefield, select the highest management type in the hierarchy.This management type displays as level 1 in theOrdercolumn. Additional subordinate levels display as level 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- (Optional) Select from the related actions menu of the management level. Peer levels will also display as level 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- (Optional) To create equal levels, select from the related actions menu of the management level name. These subordinate levels will display as level 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and so on.
- Continue to use the related actions menu to insert management levels until the hierarchy is complete.
- Access theEdit Tenant Setup – HCMtask. Select your new hierarchy on theManagement Level Hierarchyfield.
- Assign management levels to job profiles in theCreate Job Profiletask.
- Hide level numbers by selecting theHide Management and Job Levelscheck box in theEdit Tenant Setup – HCMtask.
- Provide access to information for workers across organizations by setting up a management level-based security group.
