Bulk Update Email Addresses

Bulk Update Email Addresses

Security:
View employees
and
Update employees
.
Only proceed with these steps once you’ve ensured all employees have the employee number field filled out.
Remove yourself from the file to avoid Peakon signing you out while the upload is still running, in order to sign in again with the new email address. Change your own email address separately at the end.
The email address and employee ID are the unique identifiers on employee records. When changing one unique identifier, the other must remain the same. If you change both unique identifiers at the same time through an upload, Peakon creates a new employee record. By keeping one unique identifier the same, the system can update the email address of the existing employee record.
  1. Ensure that all employees have an employee ID on their employee record. You can also bulk-import temporary employee IDs by exporting the list, then adding random IDs to the
    Employee ID
    column, and reimporting the file.
  2. Export the file again, and make the necessary email address changes. If you’re preparing employees for Exit surveys, you can also add or update personal email addresses in this step to ensure surveys reach them after departure.
  3. Before reimporting the file, tick these 2 boxes:
    Skip creation of new employees
    and
Enable overwriting of employee number or email
    .
  4. Import the file and download the import log to check for any errors.
The
Skip creation of new employees
option ensures that the upload ignores any mistakes that would result in the creation of duplicated employees. The
Enable overwriting of employee number or email
option lifts the safety blocker over updating unique identifiers.
After you change the email addresses, dashboard users can sign in with their new email address, using their old password.
