Example: Reinstate a Terminated Employee
This example explains how to reinstate an employee that previously left, while keeping their historical data and unique identifiers. You can reinstate employees whose employee record is still present in your employee data with a value in the
Termination date
attribute field. It's not possible to reinstate an employee after deleting their employee record entirely. An employee who left your organization has returned and will be using the same employee number and email as before. Their employee record currently classifies as
Left
under the Termination date
attribute, so you need to reinstate them as a current employee.- Go to .
- Select theEmployment Statusfilter.
- SelectNo longer employed.
- Search the name of the employee.
- Open their employee record.
- Click theTermination datefield.
- Press the backspace button to empty the contents of the field.
- PressSave changes.
Removing the termination date on an employee record indicates to Peakon that it's a current employee. You can add the employee to a survey round instantly, if there’s an open round. If the employee has a personal dashboard, they can also view their historical scores and comments from before the termination. The system will treat the employee as though they never left.
If the employee was a manager and they still have employees reporting to them, their reporting line segment will also reinstate. The segment will contain the historical scores and comments of the team, but not the conversations, acknowledgments and actions that the manager made. If the manager was previously in multiple access control groups, add them again manually.
