FAQ: Why Didn't Peakon Detect a Hierarchy Between 2 Segments?

When an administrator creates an attribute hierarchy between 2 segments, Peakon automatically detects relationships between any qualifying child and parent segments. A parent-child relationship between 2 segments will only exist if every single employee from the child segment is also part of the parent segment on Peakon. Example: If every single employee from the

France (Country)

segment is also part of the

Europe (Region)

segment, Peakon detects a parent-child relationship between the 2 segments. It's not possible to copy or add an existing relationship from a different hierarchy to another hierarchy.

If you expect a certain child segment to display under a specific parent segment in the heat map and that's not currently the case, try to identify any employees of the child segment that are not the parent segment. You can follow the steps below to troubleshoot why France may not display under Europe in the segment heat map:

All employees of

are now also part of the

Europe

segment, thereby creating a hierarchy between the 2 segments.
