Set Up Okta Integration

Administrator
access in Peakon.
The integration supports these features:
Create Users
,
Update User Attributes
, and
Deactivate Users
.
The integration syncs these Okta attributes to Peakon:
Email
,
First name
,
Last name
,
Employee number
,
Locale
, and
Time zone
.
It's also possible to configure your integration to sync additional attributes (Example: Custom attributes). You must add and map each additional attribute separately.
The integration doesn't support group-related provisioning features.
  1. Enable employee provisioning in Peakon.
    1. In Peakon, go to
      Administration
      Integrations
      Other Integrations
      Employee provisioning
      .
    2. Click
      Connect
      .
      The page will now display employee provisioning configuration fields. You will reference information from this page in step 3.
  2. Add the Peakon app to your managed SaaS apps in Okta.
    1. In Okta, go to your applications and search for Peakon.
    2. Add the Peakon application to your Okta instance.
  3. Configure the Peakon app in Okta.
    1. On the Peakon app in Okta, go to the
      Provisioning
      tab and click
      Configure API Integration
      .
    2. Tick the
      Enable API integration
      box.
    3. Enter the values from the
      OAuth Bearer Token
      field in Peakon in the
      API token
      field in Okta.
    4. Click
      Test API credentials
      to ensure that the connection is working.
    5. Click
      Save
      .
  4. Activate the supported provisioning features in Okta.
    1. In Okta, select
      To App
      in the
      Settings
      list.
    2. Click
      Edit
      .
    3. Enable the
      Create Users
      ,
      Update User Attributes
      and
      Deactivate Users
      options.
    4. Click
      Save
      .
  5. (Optional) Enable additional attributes in the sync. These steps use the
    Department
    attribute as an example.
    1. Ensure that the
      Department
      attribute already exists on Peakon.
      Okta doesn't support spaces in attribute names. If your attribute in Peakon contains more than 1 word, add an alias in the attribute's settings on Peakon with a special character replacing the space.
      Example: The alias for the
      Employed Since
      attribute on Peakon could be
      Employed_Since
      .
    2. On the Peakon app in Okta, click
      Add attribute
      in the
      Provisioning
      tab.
    3. Enter these details in the below fields, setting your custom attribute name as the
      Display name
      and
      Variable name
      .
      • Display name
        :
        Department
      • Variable name
        :
        department
      • External namespace
        :
        urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:extension:peakon:2.0:User
      • Scope
        :
        User personal
    4. Click
      Save
      to add the custom attribute to Okta.
    5. On the Peakon app in Okta, click
      Map Attributes
      .
    6. Select the
      Okta to Peakon
      sync direction.
    7. Use the
      Apply mapping on user create and update
      setting to map the Okta
      user.department
      attribute to the Peakon
      department
      attribute.
    8. Click
      Save Mappings
      .
You can now assign users to the app, and they will automatically sync to Peakon.
