Concept: Dashboard Contexts

Each segment on your organization's account has its own dashboard. The context switcher enables authorized users to switch their context between the dashboards that they have access to.

Reporting lines control the dashboard contexts that non-administrators can access. Access control permissions control the features and question sets that they access within their assigned areas.

2 users displaying the same dashboard context can have a different experience, based on their access level and permissions. Example: The regional leader of France can see survey results in the France context, while the administrator can additionally manage surveys and employees for France.

The dashboard context functions as a filter for:

Survey results.
Comments and topics.
Actions.
Reports.
Survey and question setup.
Employee configuration.

Global administrators can switch their dashboard context to all segments in the company.

Typically, managers can only switch their context between their direct reports and all reports segments.

If you assign additional segments to a manager on the

Managing

tab in their employee record, they can also switch their context to those segments.

Managers can't switch their context to a segment that doesn't display in their

Managing

tab, or isn't a child segment of a parent segment that they manage. Example: A sales manager can switch their context to view segments of their direct reports, and the dashboards of all managers in the sales team. However, they can't change the context on the

Males

segment, unless they manage all the males in the company.

Administrators can also grant access for selected users to specific question sets, drivers, or segments that have direct relevance to their roles, together with organization-wide survey data. Example: The French regional D&I manager, who is also a line manager for a team, will see their team access in one context and see the D&I data for France in a new access by segment context.

It's only possible to switch to 1 context at a time. As an workaround, you can select multiple segments in the heat map to display their scores in a single view.

When a user has access to multiple contexts, the list of segments that displays in their context switcher is in a descending order.

The contexts that you've searched for and switched to will remain in your context switcher while your tab is still open.
