Enable External Data for Analysis

  • Set up Zero-Copy Data In with your external system:
  • These security domains in the Prism Analytics functional area:
    • Prism: External Tables Manage
    • Prism: External Tables Owner Manage
You can make an external table available as a report data source inside Workday. When the schema is synced, activate the tables you wish to use for reporting.
  1. Access the Prism Data Catalog report.
  2. In the left navigation menu of the Data Catalog, click
    External Tables
    .
  3. Locate the table you need. Right-click or double-click the table name to open the
    View External Table Details
     page.
    Tip:
     Verify data integrity before proceeding.
  4. Click the
    Quick Action
     button on the top right and select
    Edit External Table
    .
  5. On the
    Edit External Table
     page, select the
    Enable for analysis
     check box.
  6. Click
    Save
    .
Enabling the external table for analysis transforms the external table into a reporting-ready data source.
You can use the external table as a data source in Prism, Discovery Boards, or other analytical experiences according to your own scenario.
