Workforce & Frontline Management Skills
Overview and Purpose
Frontline workers and managers often use manual processes to manage worker time and payments. These workflows can be time-consuming and open to user error, requiring repetitive actions for tasks such as approving worker time. The Workforce & Frontline Management skills of the Self-Service Agent enable users to manage these tasks more efficiently through natural conversational language.

Asking Questions
In Workday Chat, managers and timekeepers can use prompts such as:
- Check all timesheets that are ready for approval.
- How many hours did Ben Adams work on Friday?
- Send back to Abby with a comment asking her to verify she worked on New Year's.
- Show me the details of time worked by Todd this week.
- What time blocks does Peter have from 12/01-12/04?
Workers can use prompts such as:
- How many days of time off will I have by the end of this year?
- How many hours did I work last week?
- How many sick days do I have left?
- Submit a time off request for the week of Labor Day.
- What are the dates of company holidays for this year?
The accuracy and relevance of the response depends on the quality of the prompts. Clear and straightforward prompts give better results.
Providing Feedback
Currently these skills don’t leverage feedback other than by telling the agent to retry if it's inaccurate or to check its work or assumptions. Example: It mistakes today for Monday when today is actually Tuesday.
To provide feedback on the quality of your interactions, click the thumbs up or thumbs down icon. If you click thumbs down, you must provide details. You can either:
- Select from options we provide or selectSomething elseto type in your own feedback. When done, clickSubmit.
- Cancel out at any point by clicking the X. We'll still capture your thumbs down selection.
Limitations
- These skills can misinterpret questions or present unexpected results. Always review the output to ensure the quality of the content.
