Create Job Templates
Have these permissions:
- settings.adminto access theJob Templatespage.
- job_templates.bulk.createto bulk upload job templates.
- job_templates.readto view job templates.
Job templates are customizable templates that users can choose when publishing a job or a statement of work (SOW) role in Workday VNDLY. Creating a job template saves time and increases consistency when publishing jobs.
If you don't see a field listed in the table below when completing the job template, submit a product support case for assistance to review your tenant's job form configuration.

- In theJobs & Work Orderssection, selectJob Templates.
- ClickAdd.If you want to create multiple job templates at once, you can clickBulk Uploadinstead. This option enables you to upload multiple templates with a CSV file. To learn about the available fields in the file, see the Job Template Inbound section of the Workday VNDLY File Import Specifications page on the Workday Community.
- Complete the task:OptionDescriptionJob TitleThis title will display when users select the template on thePublish Jobform.You can use the sameJob Titlefor more than 1 job template, as long as the templates don’t have the sameJob Category. Example: You want to publish a business analyst job in the Human Resources department. You create a job template with aJob TitleofBusiness Analystand aJob CategoryofHuman Resources. Multiple job templates have the same title, but not the same category. When you select a job template on thePublish Jobform, you select theBusiness Analysttemplate that displays withCategory: Human Resources.Job CategoryEnables job templates to be grouped by broad categories. It can also be used as a criteria for other settings that utilize rules.If you don’t see a job category that’s expected, ensure it’s been added on theJob Categoriespage. See: Create Job Categories.Is ActiveEnsure the option is enabled, otherwise the template is not visible on thePublish Jobform.Module RestrictionsAdd 1 or more modules to limit when the job template can be used. If you don't add any modules, the template is available for all modules.Popular JobEnable to list the job as a commonly used template for all users when they are publishing jobs.Country RestrictionsAdd 1 or more countries to limit when the job template can be used. If you don't add any countries, the template can be used for jobs in any country.Job TypesIf your tenant has custom job types set up, you can include variations such as Junior or Senior. Job Types enable you to create multiple rate cards using a single job template.Max Duration of JobWhen a template includes a maximum number of (calendar) days, and a user attempts to publish a job with a longer duration, VNDLY displays an alert indicating the duration of the job is greater than the max duration of the job. If the user has thejob.max_duration.overridepermission, they can accept the alert and continue with publishing the job.Select Premium Rate on Job FormEnable this option to select a premium rate when publishing a job. Premium rates allow you to set rates on the job form for different shifts such as the 2nd or 3rd shift.Hide Expense TypeYou can hide this option from displaying when publishing a job.Hide Weekly Paid TravelYou can hide this option from displaying when publishing a job.Hide Projects SiteYou can hide this option when publishing a job.This field may use a custom data source.Use Fast PathIf your tenant hasFast Pathenabled, enable this field for the job to always use fast path.This field is only visible when the option ofSpecified in job templateis selected on theJob Applications Settingspage.Override Default Fast Path SettingIf your tenant hasFast Pathenabled, enable this option to override the default candidate status.Fast Path Candidate StatusIf your tenant hasFast Pathenabled, and you've chosen to override the defaultFast Pathsetting of your tenant, select the status you wish VNDLY to place the candidate into when they’re submitted for this job.Apply ShiftsIf your tenant has shifts set up, enable this option to display shifts when publishing a job.Are Shifts RequiredEnable this option to make shifts a mandatory field when publishing a job. This option only displays when you've enabledShifts.Override Default Pre-Id SettingsIf your tenant hasPre-Id Settingsenabled, enable this option to override the default candidate status.Pre-Id Candidate StatusIf your tenant hasPre-Id Settingsenabled, and you've chosen to override the default pre-ID settings of your tenant, select the status you wish VNDLY to place the candidate into when they're submitted for a preidentified job.Must HaveSelect from the pre-defined skills from Workday Skills Cloud or type your own unique skills.Nice to HaveSelect from the pre-defined skills from Workday Skills Cloud or type your own unique skills.DescriptionEnter the details of the job. The content entered can be edited when publishing the job.

Workday VNDLY displays the job template in the list of templates on the
Publish Job
form.
