Send Students to a Collection Agency

Send Students to a Collection Agency

You can send students to a collection agency to recover the past due charges for you, when:
  • Students fail to meet collection agreement requirements.
  • Your institution doesn't handle collections or collection agreements,
  1. Access the
    Find Students with Past Due Charges
     report.
  2. From the related actions menu of a student, select
    Financials
    Maintain Collection Tracking History
    .
  3. Change the
    Collection Status
     to
    At Collection Agency
    .
  4. (Optional) Select a
    Current Collection Agency
    .
    Workday associates new entries in the tracking history for the student collection with this agency. Previous entries aren't affected.
The past due charges for the student remain on their account until the collection agency sends you the payment or you write off the charges.
  • (Optional) If the student has a collection agreement, cancel it.
  • (Optional) Write off the student charge or the portion that the collection agency retains of the collection payment.
