Create Due Date Rules for Student Charges

Create Due Date Rules for Student Charges

Security:
Set Up: Student Charges
domain in the Student Financials functional area.
You can create due date rules for Institutions and their superior academic units. Workday uses these rules to calculate payment due dates when posting charges to student accounts. Different charge items can have different due date rules.
These due date rules don't apply when you:
  • Include charge items in payment plans. Instead, Workday uses policies for student payment plans to calculate installment due dates.
  • Post single charges for individual students. You can specify payment due dates for these charges manually.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Charge Due Date Rules
    task.
  2. Add a row for each charge due date rule.
As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Anchor Date
Select 1 of these options to start calculating due dates:
    • Academic Period Start Date
    • Course Section Start Date
    • Day of the Month
    • Posted Date
    Academic Period
(Optional) Add a row for each academic period in which the charge due date isn’t the posted date.
When not specified, Workday assigns the posted date of a charge as the due date.
    Initial Due Date Days
Define the first due date of a charge in the academic period using anchors for:
    • Academic Period Start Date
      .
    • Course Section Start Date
      .
Enter a number to add to or subtract from the anchor date.
Example: To make charges due 30 days before the academic period begins, select the
    Academic Period Start Date
    anchor and enter
    -30
    .
You can define the initial due dates for rules that use the
    Day of the Month
    or
    Posted Date
    anchors in the
    Subsequent Due Date
    section.
    Subsequent Due Date
Specify for charges that post after the initial due date defined for that academic period.
    For rules that use the
    Day of the Month
    or
    Posted Date
anchors, the subsequent due date settings also determine the due dates of the first instance.
    When you select
    None of the Above
, subsequent instances of charges share the same due dates as the first instance.
Define a rule making tuition due either:
  • Thirty days after the academic period begins.
  • Twenty-one days after posting the charge when not enough time remains to honor the initial rule.
