Steps: Set Up Student Hubs

Security: These domains in the System functional area:
  • Set Up: Tenant Setup – General
  • Set Up: Tenant Setup – Hub
The Student Academics Hub and the Student Finances Hub enable students to navigate to their most frequent tasks and reports. Hubs surface students' most relevant items in a timely manner.
Students have access to the reports and tasks on each hub only if they have access to the domains that secure it.
The Campus Engagement Hub provides a centralized location for administrators to view student engagement items and their analytics easily.
  1. Edit Domain Security Policies.
    Configure these domains:
    • Self-Service: Student Academics Hub
       in the Academic Advising and Student Records functional areas.
    • Self-Service: Student Finances Hub
       in the Financial Aid and Student Financials functional areas.
    • View: Campus Engagement Hub
       in the Campus Engagement functional area.
    For the
    Self-Service: Student Academics Hub
     domain and the
    Self-Service: Student Finances Hub
    , ensure that the
    Allowed Security Group
     is
    Self-Service - Student
    . Configure the
    Student as Self
     security group to access the reports and tasks.
  2. Access the
    Maintain Hubs
     task.
    Security:
    Set Up: Tenant Setup – General
     and
    Set Up: Tenant Setup – Hub
     domains in the System functional area.
  3. Set Up Hubs.
    Configure any or all of these hubs:
    • Campus Engagement Hub
    • Student Academics Hub
    • Student Finances Hub
  4. Activate Pending Security Policy Changes.
  5. You can configure the
    Student Academics Hub
     and
    Student Finances Hub
     as worklets on the
    Workday Home
     page.
    • Select the
      Home
       dashboard, and click
      Edit
      .
    • Expand
      Worklets
      .
    • Add a row. Select
      Academics Hub
      .
    • Add another row. Select
      Financials Hub
      .
    • Ensure that the
      Required for Groups
       is
      Student as Self
      .
    • Select the
      Required
       check box if you don't want students to remove the dashboard from their Home page.
Administrators with access to the
View: Campus Engagement Hub
 domain can access the Campus Engagement Hub.
Students can access the Academics and Student Financials Hubs from the
Workday Home
 page. Students can access their most frequent tasks and reports from the navigation links on the hubs.
Students can also access these hubs from global search by entering:
  • task: Financials Overview
  • task: Academic Overview
