Steps: Set Up Student Immigration Information

You can enable students to update their own immigration data in self-service by configuring the
Student Immigration Event
 business process.
You can hide the fields that you don't require on the Immigration task, report, and business process.
  1. Configure the
    Student Immigration Event
     business process and security policy in the Student Core functional area.
  2. Provide appropriate access to these tasks on the
    Student Immigration Event
     business process:
    • Review Student Immigration Data
       for approvers.
    • Revise My Immigration Data
       and
      Update My Immigration Data
       for students.
  3. Add these steps on the
    Student Immigration Event
     for:
    • Approvals.
    • Documents.
  4. Edit Domain Security Policies.
    Configure security for these domains in the Student Core functional area:
    • Manage: Immigration Status
    • Reports: Student Immigration Data
    • Self-Service: Student Immigration Data
    • Student Data: Immigration
  5. Activate Pending Security Policy Changes.
  6. (Optional) Access the
    Configure Optional Fields
     task if you want to hide the fields that your institution doesn't use.
    For
    By Functional Area
    , select
    Student Core
    .
    Configure to display or hide the same fields on the:
    • Student Immigration Event
       business process
    • Edit Student Immigration Information
       task
    • View Student - International - Immigration Information
       report
    Security:
    Set Up: Configure Optional Fields
     domain in the System functional area.
  7. Configure
    Student Document Types
     for the
    Document Category
     of
    International Student
    .
  8. Access the
    Create Custom Report
     task.
    Create custom reports using the
    Student Immigration Data
    Data Source
    .
    Use 1 or all of these business objects for your custom reports:
    • All Dependents
    • Primary Nationality
    • Student Immigration Data
    • Student
    Security:
    Custom Report Creation
     domain in the System functional area.
  • The
    Student Immigration Event
     runs when students update any of their immigration information.
  • If you've configured approvals, the
    Review Student Immigration Data
     task displays in the My Tasks of the approver. The approver can submit the changes or send the
    Revise My Immigration Data
     task back to the student.
  • You and students can view a student's immigration data on the
    Immigration Information
     report of the student profile.
