Set Up Rules for Invalid External Accounts

domain in the Admissions functional area.
You can create and manage rules for student applications tied to certain email addresses, enabling more control over potentially fraudulent student applications. Workday can block a student application or flag it for manual review when the associated email address matches an invalid external account rule.
When checking for invalid external accounts, Workday references the email address the applicant uses to sign in to the external student site. Workday doesn't reference the email address entered into the student application.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Rules for Invalid External Accounts
    task.
  2. As you configure invalid external account rules, consider:
    Option Description
    Create Email Domain Rules
    Flag or block email addresses from a specific domain. Example: workday.com.
    Create Google Alias Rule
    Flag or block email addresses that use variations of the same Google alias. Example: john.doe@gmail.com and johndoe+abcde@gmail.com are the same Google alias.
    This rule also applies to email addresses that use the same username but different Google domains.
  3. As you select an action for your invalid external account rule, consider:
    Option Description
    Review
    Enable the applicant to submit an application but flag it for manual review.
    You can review flagged applications in a custom report using the
    Requires Review
    report field.
    Block
    Prevent the applicant from submitting the application.
    Workday sends the applicant a standard error message when they submit the application.
    Disable Rule
    Inactivate a previously configured rule.
Create condition rules to review invalid external accounts.
