Create Student Recommender Configurations

Create Student Recommender Configurations

Security:
Set Up: Student Sites
domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
To optimize recommender experience, you can configure the text that displays on the external student site when they access their recommendations or reset their passwords. You can also configure whether applicants are able to edit recommender information after they submit their applications.
  1. Access the
    Configure Student Recommender Setup
    task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Recommender Password Reset Page
Enter text to display when first-time recommenders click the password reset link on the notification about a new recommendation request.
    Recommender Reset Confirmation Page
Enter text to display when recommenders submit their password reset.
    Recommender Homepage Creation
Enter text to display to recommenders on the recommendation landing page. Recommenders can access the recommendation landing page from the Recommendations section of the external student site after they sign in.
If you don't configure any text for this page, the recommendation landing page simply lists recommendations for the recommender.
Allow Applicant to Edit Submitted Recommender Information
Select to enable applicants to edit their recommenders after they submit their application and before the recommender completes the recommendation.
After submitting their applications, applicants can't add or remove recommenders. However, as long as the recommendation status is
    Not Received
, applicants can replace names and contact information for existing recommenders, effectively swapping them out. After a recommender completes their recommendation, applicants can no longer edit them or swap them out.
Any changes that an applicant makes to their recommenders impacts the edited application only. If multiple applications include the same recommender, their information remains unchanged on the unedited applications.
When student recommenders access the recommendation landing page or reset their passwords, they see the text that you've configured. If enabled, applicants can edit recommenders who haven't completed their recommendations yet.
After you click
OK
on the
Configure Student Recommender Setup
task, Workday no longer automatically sends password reset emails to new recommenders. Instead, Workday sends the email when a recommender clicks
Send Password Reset
on the recommender password reset page. You can include a link to the password reset page in a custom business process notification.
To delete a student recommender configuration, access the
Delete Student Recommender Setup
task. When you delete a student recommender configuration, Workday:
  • Returns to automatically sending password reset emails to new recommenders.
  • Removes any text for recommender pages on the external student site.
  • Prevents applicants from editing recommenders after submitting their applications.
