Set Up Student Applicant Types

Set Up Student Applicant Types

Security:
Manage: Admissions Foundation
domain in the Admissions functional area.
You can create student applicant types to categorize, group, and manage student applicants. Applicant types enable you to report on, configure processes for, and engage with applicants based on the way your institution classifies different types of student applicants.
Examples of applicant types include:
  • First Year
  • Graduate
  • Transfer
When student prospects apply to your institution, they specify the applicant type of their applications. Workday then processes their applications according to your configurations for that applicant type.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Student Applicant Types
    task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Category
Map the applicant type to a category. You can map multiple applicant types to the same category.
    Inactive
When an application type is created and either ready to be associated with an application, or associated with an application, it's considered
    active
. If you no longer need an applicant type that isn't associated with an application, you can choose to
    Inactivate
    it.
Workday recommends that you inactivate applicant types rather than delete them.
You can't inactivate applicant types that are in use on an active application.
Use applicant types in custom reports, condition rules, application groupings, and other recruiting and admissions configurations.
