Reference: Alternative Loan Statuses

Workday uses alternative loan statuses to drive the processing of alternative loans. These statuses also provide you with greater visibility into alternative loan applications, helping you to know:
  • Where they are in the certification process.
  • When you should launch integrations to transmit information to your loan servicer.
Statuses also determine the actions that you can perform on an alternative loan application. In certain statuses, some actions aren't available in order to help keep information in sync with the loan servicer. Example: Once an alternative loan application has a status of
Certification Transmitted
, you can no longer edit it. You must correct it instead.

Awaiting Disbursement Roster
The loan servicer sent a response file using the

integration. Workday waits for the loan servicer to include the student on the disbursement roster.
Workday doesn't disburse any anticipated disbursements of the alternative loan until the student is on the disbursement roster.

Canceled
You canceled the loan application and the loan servicer acknowledged the change.
You can initiate a change to reinstate the loan.
When a student's alternative loan application status is
Canceled
, Workday removes the alternative loan from the student's
Total Financial Assistance
(TFA) report unless it's already been disbursed. If the loan has already been disbursed, then the loan remains on the student's TFA report and you must zero it out and create a manual refund.

Lender Cancelled
Workday assigns this status when:
  • The loan servicer sends a response file wherein alternative loan applications have T (Terminated) or D (Denied) record status codes and you use the
Alternative Loan Application Send Response Inbound
integration to load the applications into Workday before the lender disburses the loan applications.
  • You update the
    Application/Loan Phase Code
    field to
    Terminated
    , using the
    Create Manual Response
task. We recommend that you use this option with caution and only when you are absolutely sure that you want to update the loan status of an application to
