Override NSLDS Aggregates

Override NSLDS Aggregates

Security:
Manage: NSLDS - USA
domain in the Financial Aid functional area.
For every award year that students are eligible for federal financial aid, the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) keeps track of:
  • The aggregate amount of their loans.
  • Federal Pell Grant lifetime eligibility used.
Schools receive NSLDS data through:
  • Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) transactions.
  • NSLDS Transfer Monitoring/Financial Aid History files.
Workday receives the data through an NSLDS transaction and packages students according to the specified aggregate limits. Each award year, Workday uses the information from the most recent NSLDS transaction from before the first financial aid disbursement date. You can override the values on the NSLDS transaction when necessary.
Example: A parent is ineligible for a Federal Parent PLUS loan. Instead, their student receives an additional federal unsubsidized loan that causes the student to exceed their aggregate limit. To approve this action, override the student's aggregate loan amount.
Workday recommends you keep track of all overrides and avoid any discrepancies in data.
  1. From the related actions menu of the student profile, select
    Financial Aid
    View NSLDS Aggregates
    and click
    Override
    .
    The
    View NSLDS Aggregates
report displays information about awards from the current and previous award years.
  2. Select the
    Override
check box to invalidate the aggregate loan limit by academic period.
Overrides apply for all the academic periods of the award year you override. They don’t affect subsequent award years.
Workday ignores subsequent NSLDS transactions and honors the override value.
