Maintain Pell Grant Limits for Student Awards

Starting with award years 2025-2026, you must manually enter maximum and minimum Pell Grant amounts once the U.S. Department of Education (ED) releases the new amounts to institutions. The amounts are used in the Workday-provided calculation for Pell Grant awards.

Update the maximum and minimum limits every financial aid award year before you begin the financial aid packaging process for the award year. If the Pell Grant amounts haven’t been released yet for an upcoming award year and you need to package students, you can enter the maximum and minimum amounts from the previous award year. Example: It’s currently the 2024-2025 award year, and you want to package a student for the 2025-2026 award year. Enter the 2024-2025 maximum and minimum amounts for the 2025-2026 award year and package the student. Once the ED releases the Pell Grant limits for the 2025-2026 award year, update the amounts, and then repackage the student.

If you change the maximum or minimum Pell Grant amount for an existing award year or delete an existing award year, the updates might affect the grant amount a student receives during packaging.
