Configure Optional Fields for Suppliers

Enable
Bypass Validations for Bank Account Number, IBAN and Tax ID for Supplier

Security:
Set Up: Configure Optional Fields
 domain in the System functional area.
You can bypass validations for bank account number, international bank account number (IBAN), and tax ID in supplier-related tasks as well as in the
Submit Supplier
 Web Service (v46.0). When you configure these fields as non-enterable, you can only enter data in them through the web service.
To customize the information collected from suppliers, you can configure optional fields in tasks that use these business processes:
  • Supplier Change Event
  • Supplier Event
  • Supplier Request
  • Supplier Settlement Bank Account Change Event
This feature can significantly impact downstream settlement, payment, and tax integrations and disrupt processes if the data is not properly formatted.
Don't enable this feature:
  • If you use electronic settlement, payment processing, or related tax integrations. Workday doesn’t convert nonformatted data into the required format, so you must establish processes to convert and validate the data as needed.
  • If you synchronize supplier data with Workday Strategic Sourcing. Tokenized data formats aren’t compatible with Strategic Sourcing.
  1. Access the
    Configure Optional Fields
     task.
  2. Select one of these options from the
    By Functional Area
     prompt and click
    OK
    . Repeat this step for each remaining option:
    • Supplier Change Event
    • Supplier Event
    • Supplier Request
    • Supplier Settlement Bank Account Change Event
  3. Add 3 rows to the grid and complete the task
    Field
    Select:
    • Tax ID Identification
      in the first row
    • Bank Account number
      in the second row
    • IBAN
      in the third row.
    Criteria
    Select
    Not Enterable for All
    for all rows.
    Enforce Required in Web Services
    Select to enforce required fields on all web services within the functional area. When you clear this check box, you can correct data without populating every field on the web service.
    Hidden For
    Select a role from which you want to hide the field.
    Required For
    Select a role for which you want to require the field.
  4. Click
    OK
    .
