Example: Export Workers Using a Search Report
This example illustrates how you can export more than 50 workers using a mass action on a search
report.
You want to view all current workers on an Excel spreadsheet so you can export the data and
identify each worker's full legal name, location, and position.
Security: These domains in the System functional area:
- Custom Report Creation
- Manage: All Custom Reports
- Access theCreate Custom Reporttask and enter:

- In theColumnstab, enter:Business ObjectFieldWorkerFull Legal NameWorkerLocationWorkerPosition
- In theFiltertab, add a filter with these values:FieldOperatorComparison TypeComparison ValueWorkerin the selection listPrompt the user for the valueDefault Prompt
- In thePromptstab, clickPopulate Undefined Prompt Defaults.
- On thePrompt Defaultssection, specify:FieldDo Not Prompt at RuntimeWorkerContingent Worker TypeSelect the check box.Employee TypeSelect the check box.Worker TypesSelect the check box.
- ClickOK.
- Access theFind Workersreport.
- Select from the related actions menu.
- ClickOK.
- In theAdvancedtab, add a row in theMass Actionssection.
- SelectCreate Custom Mass Actionfrom theMass Actionprompt and enter:
Option Description NameFind Worker Export to ExcelExecutes ReportExport Template - ClickOK.
- On theMass Actionssection, specify:
Option Description Mass ActionFind Worker Export to ExcelNameExport WorkersOutput to Excel / Output to PDFOutput to Excel - ClickOKandRun.
- Select all workers and clickExport Workers.
Workday exports all workers to an Excel spreadsheet with the columns on the advanced report.
