- Access thePreview STP Reporttask.
- Select an STP report.
- As you review theIncome Tax and Remunerationsection for the current pay period consider:
Option Description PAYG Withholding AmountThe total amount of PAYG withholding for all payees.This amount includes the:- PAYG Withholding amount
- Employee Termination Payment (ETP) PAYG Withholding amount.
Total Gross Payments AmountThe total amount of salary, wages, and other reportable payments for all payees, minus all salary sacrifice amounts.This amount includes the:- Gross amount
- Paid Leave Payment amount
- Payee Allowance amount
- Overtime amount
- Bonuses and Commissions amount
- Directors' Fees amount
- Lump Sum Payment amount
- Payee Termination Payment Taxable component
- Salary Sacrifice amount.
Child Support Garnishee AmountThe total amount of Section 72a child support garnishments for all payees.Child Support Withholding AmountThe total amount of child support deductions excluding Section 72a for all payees. - ThePayee Recordsgrid contains the YTD values for workers included in the STP report. As you review the grid, consider checking the TFN numbers, including for workers with TFN exemptions. Check that the YTD amounts match your expectations. Ensure that working holiday makers have a country code that isn't AUS.
- Click theView Errorsbutton to check for any warnings that could result in a partial acceptance from the ATO, or critical errors that could result in a rejection from the ATO.
- After correcting any errors, we recommend that you use theReconcile STP Datarelated action to ensure that pay results are correct, and that reporting categories are correctly mapped.
- If you have made any changes or corrected any errors, refresh the STP report.
For payees not working in Australia, the PAYG withholding amount reported is the residual amount after deducting any foreign tax paid. If the foreign tax exceeds the Australian PAYG withholding, the withholding amount is zero, it cannot be negative.
