Example: Set Up Custom Worktags for Voluntary Deductions
This example illustrates how to set up a custom worktag to classify employee voluntary deductions.
You're setting up a voluntary deduction for a charity called Way to Give. The charity enables contributors to direct their contributions to a particular cause. You want to enable workers to select the cause when they create their voluntary deductions.
- Access theEnable Custom Worktagstask.Security:
- Set Up: Enable Worktagsdomain in the Common Financial Management and Worktags functional areas.
- Set Up: Payroll - Company Specific (Accounting)domain in the Core Payroll functional area.
- In an unused row, selectCustom Worktag is Enabled.
- In theWorktag Namefield, enterGiving Cause.
- From theWorktag Usageprompt, selectPayroll.
- ClickOK, and then clickDone.
- Access theMaintain Custom Worktag Valuesreport.Security:
- Set Up: Maintain Custom Worktagsdomain in the Common Financial Management and Worktags functional areas.
- Set Up: Payroll - Company Specific (Accounting)domain in the Core Payroll functional area.
- From theCustom Worktag Typeprompt, selectGiving Cause.
- Add a row for each of these giving causes:
- Animal Rescue
- Clean Water
- Disaster Fund
- Literacy
- Medical Outreach
- ClickDone.
When you configure the voluntary deduction for Way to Give, select the worktag type

prompt when they add new voluntary deductions for Way to Give.
