Enable Conditional Progression on a Journey

Enable Conditional Progression on a Journey

  • Create a journey in the
    Journeys Workspace
    .
  • Configure the
    Manage: Journey Builders
domain in the Journeys functional area.
Conditional progression enables you to control the order in which employees complete step groups in a journey. When you enable it, step groups lock in sequence. Employees can't interact with a step group until they complete the required steps in the previous step group.
Use conditional progression when the order in which employees complete step groups matters, such as in onboarding, compliance, or multi-phase programs.
  1. Access the
    Journeys Workspace
    report.
  2. Open the journey in the
    Journeys
    editor.
  3. Select the
    Editor
    tab.
  4. Select the
    Conditional Progression
    toggle.
The information highlighted in the editor describes how Conditional Progression interacts with due dates, condition rules, and optional steps in each step group.
  5. Save your changes.
  6. Publish the journey.
Conditional progression applies to new distributions only. If you've already distributed this journey, rescind and redistribute it to apply the updated configuration to existing recipients.
Workday locks step groups in sequence for new distributions of the journey. Employees can see locked step groups, including the step group name and any due dates, but can't interact with them until they complete the required steps in the previous step group. When an employee completes all required steps, the next step group unlocks immediately.
