Workday Messaging Country Configuration

Workday Messaging is available for phone numbers in specific countries. There are different requirements to acquire a phone number in each country. For countries that require a regulatory bundle, ensure that you upload attachments:

The length of time it takes to complete configurations varies depending on whether it’s a one-way or conversational configuration and each country's regulatory requirements.

SMS one-way messaging: For most countries it takes between 24 hours and 7 days to complete a one-way messaging configuration.

For the U.S., it takes on average 30 days to complete an SMS one-way messaging configuration due to the time needed for the Application-to-Person (A2P) registration process.

SMS conversational messaging: For most countries, a conversational messaging configuration can take an additional 24 hours to complete after the one-way configuration for the same country is complete.

The SMS conversational messaging configuration for the U.S. can take an additional 30 days to complete.

WhatsApp conversational messaging: It takes between 24 hours and 7 days to complete a WhatsApp messaging configuration for all supported countries.

For the U.S. and Canada only, you can request a specific area code when setting up an SMS messaging configuration. If unavailable, Workday secures the next available area code.
