- Worker Profile Modernization refreshes the user experience by updating the layout to improve accessibility to the Worker Profile.
- What changes?
- You can experience a visual and navigation uplift across the Worker Profile with these features:
- A profile header at the top of the page that displays location and contact information.
- A collapsible side menu that provides control over how you move through your profile.
- A Private tab that contains your personal information, such as your annual rewards package, most recent pay, and absence balances.
- A Public tab that displays what your profile looks like when others access it.
- Can I opt out of this feature?
- Yes. To opt out:
- Access theMaintain Feature Opt Instask.
- On theWorker Profile Modernizationrow, selectOpt Out of Feature.
- Where do administrators find profile configuration tasks?
- You can manage your worker profile configurations in theSystem Admin Hubby selectingNavigation → Profiles.
- Does my existing subscription include the modernized Worker Profile?
- Yes, it is available for all Workday subscriptions that include the Worker Profile.
- How does this relate to the New Workday Experience?
- You can experience changes in the branding colors and visual components on the Worker Profile, while existing functionality remains the same.
- When does Workday enable the modernized Worker Profile?
- Workday automatically enables the modernized Worker Profile in your tenant on these dates:
- 2026-07-17 (26R2 Preview): Workday enables the feature in Preview tenants for all customers.
- 2026-08-15: Workday enables the feature in Early Adopter (EA) Production tenants.
- 026-09-19 (26R2 Production release): Workday enables the feature in all Production tenants.
You can opt out of this feature during this release. Workday removes the option to opt out approximately 18 months after the 2026R2 release.
- Will we lose data if we opt out?
- No. This phase release makes no data changes and requires no data conversion. You can opt in and opt out of the feature at any time.
- What are the implications of opting out?
- If you keep the current experience, you cannot access the new accessibility improvements or future enhancements for the modernized profile.
- Can I opt out of just the Private tab?
- Yes. Workday provides a separate, granular opt-out for theWorker Profile Modernization – Private Tabfeature. Opting out of this feature disables only the Private tab while keeping the profile header, side menu, and Public tab updates active. Opting out of the main Worker Profile Modernization feature automatically opts you out of the Private tab as well.
- Which profile types are included?
- This functionality applies to these worker profiles:
- Contingent
- Retired
- Terminated
This functionality does not currently apply to:- Student
- Candidate
- Other Profile
- What is the Private tab?
- The Private tab displays a worker's personal information, such as total rewards, pay details, and absence balances. Workers view this tab only when accessing their own profile, subject to tenant security and application configurations.
- Can other people view my Private tab?
- No. Only you view the Private tab on your own profile. When you view another worker's profile, Workday displays only public information.
- Why does a Private tab not display for a worker?
- The Private tab appears only when eligible, secured content exists. Workday hides the tab when your tenant lacks relevant applications or when worker security settings restrict access to content.
- Why don't I see the Private tab after opting in?
- To view the Private tab, the user needs to be secured to one of the three cards delivered with 2026R2, such as theMy Recent Paycard. In addition, verify that theWorker Profile Modernization – Private Tabcheck box is selected in your tenant.
- What happens when a tab contains no content?
- Workday hides the Public or Private tab when the tab contains no available content and displays the Overview page instead.
- What is not yet configurable?
- In this release, you cannot:
- Hide individual cards within the Private tab
- Add custom cards
- Reorder tabs
- Does my existing profile configuration still work?
- Yes. The worker profile user experience supports your existing configuration.
- Do we need to review our configuration before the Production tenant?
- Yes. Review and remove redundant content to streamline the profile. Example: Location displays in the profile header, you no longer need to display location in the summary bar.
- What should I test in the preview tenant?
- Log in as representative workers to verify Private tab card visibility.
- Review the experience in your preview tenant.
- Verify that your existing configuration and security produce expected results.
- Identify and remove redundant profile fields.
- Confirm access to theActionsmenu andTeamorOrg Chartview on theSummarytab.
- Access the Worker Profile through theSystem Admin Hub.
- Update job aids and internal training materials for the new navigation and layout.
- Why does the preview release early?
- Early access provides time to test functionality and update job aids before the Production release.
- Does this change affect mobile?
- Yes. Workday releases mobile updates in June 2026 that align the mobile experience with the desktop experience.
- Do desktop opt-out settings affect mobile?
- No. The worker profile opt-out selections do not apply to the mobile experience.
