Create Configurable Cards

Security:
Set Up: Tenant Setup - Cards
 domain in the System functional area.
You can use configurable cards to create, manage, and deploy custom content cards to specific functional hubs. The cards can deliver tailored information, external resources, or data visualizations onto the
Overview
page of the hub you select.
  1. Access the
    Manage Configurable Cards
     task.
  2. Click
    Create New Card
    .
  3. Select 1 of these card types and click
    OK

    Option Description
    Simple Card
    Select to create a card with standard configuration option with text based info/links.
    Data Viz Card
    Select to create a card with a custom report to get the output type as a chart.
    Image Card
    Select to create a card for specific branding or partner content.
  4. In the
    General
    section, enter the name of the card.
  5. In the
    Header
    section, enter the title of the card. You can also enter a subtitle.
  6. Complete the
    Details
    section:
    Option Description
    Simple Card
    Enter the description of the card.
    Data Viz Card
    Select a custom report to visualize.
    Image Card
    Select or create a custom image for the card. Custom images must conform to your tenant's file size limit and permitted file types.
  7. (Optional) Complete the
    Footer
    section:
    Option Description
    Security Group
    Select which security groups can access the tasks or reports in the footer.
    Condition Rule
    Select a condition rule to determine who Workday displays the card to.
    External Link
    (Optional) To add navigation, select a link option and enter the task, custom report, or external URL in the Footer section.
    You can add an item, such as a custom report, to the hub as a navigation item. If you also want to add it to the footer of a card, you must make a copy of the custom report. You can’t use the same report in the hub navigation and the card footer.
  8. Complete the
    Security
    section:
    Option Description
    Domains
    Select the domain to search and use the cards.
    Security Group
    Select which security groups can access the cards.
    Condition Rule
    Select a condition rule to determine who Workday displays the card to.
  9. In the
    Preview
    section, review the card appearance. To preview the data visualization card, configure the card to a Hub.
  10. Click
    OK
    .
  11. Select
    Publish
    on the card in the Cards grid to add it to the
    Maintain Hubs
     report.
    Workday can display a maximum of 10 published cards on a single hub overview page.
Access the
Maintain Hubs
 report to view the Hub and verify the card appears on the selected hub overview page.
To remove a card from a hub without deleting the definition, access the
Manage Configurable Cards
 task and click
Unpublish
. You can’t unpublish a card that’s in use. You must first remove the card from the
Maintain Hubs
 report, and then access the
Manage Configurable Cards
 task to unpublish it.
To permanently remove a card definition, access the
Manage Configurable Cards
 task and click
Delete
.
