Example: Import Tenant Translations
This example illustrates how you can export untranslated instances for translation and use a spreadsheet to update translations in your tenant.
You have a new Workday product and want to translate it into French. You can select the business objects you need to translate, export the untranslated data and then import your French translations to your tenant using a spreadsheet.

domain in the System functional area.- Access theCreate Tenanted Translation Projecttask. You can use your tenanted translated project as input for the web service to extract your translatable tenanted data.
- Define aNamefor your project and use theWorkday Productfield to return all translatable business objects for one or multiple products.
- Use theTranslatable Business Objectsfield to add or remove business objects from your selected product. You also add business objects from other products.
- Select one or multiple languages from the list of languages enabled for your tenant.
- As you complete the task, consider:Export Untranslated Instances OnlySelect this checkbox if you want to translate instances that haven't been translated.Export Context DataSelect this checkbox if you want to export additional information.
- Access theCreate EIBtask.
- Enter the name of your tenanted translation project and selectInbound. ClickOK.
- In theGet Datasection of the task, select thePut Tenanted Translation Project Data (Web Service)web service operation from theWeb Service Operationfield.
- Navigate to theReview and Submitsection and clickOK.
- On theView Integration Systempage:
- Navigate to the related actions menu of your integration system and select .
- SelectEdit Template with Data Options.
- In theCondition Rule Filter, selectFieldEnterSource ExternalorCondition RuleTenanted Translation ProjectRelational OperatorIn the selection listComparison ValueYour tenanted translation project.
- ClickOK.
- SelectGenerate Spreadsheet Template with Data.
- Select the output format. Example: XLSX
- Select theGenerate Spreadsheet with Datacheck box.
- ClickSubmit.
- On theView Background Processpage, clickRefreshuntil the process is complete and the output is generated.
The number of instances in your output file can vary from language to language if you selected theExport Untranslated Instances Onlycheckbox in theCreate Tenanted Translation Projecttask. - Edit the output spreadsheet to enter your translations in either theTranslated Valueor theTranslated Rich Valuecolumn.
- Access theView Integration Systemtask.
- From the related actions menu of your integration system, select .
- Select your tenanted translation project for integration and chooseRun Nowfrom theRun Frequencyfield. ClickOK.
- On theSchedule an Integrationpage, use theValuefield to selectCreate an Integration Attachmentand upload the spreadsheet.
- On theView Background Processpage, clickRefreshuntil the process is complete.
Your translations have been uploaded successfully.
Access the
Translate Business Object
task to verify that the translations are updated in your tenant.
