Create Audiences to Use in Collaboration Tasks
We plan to retire Campaigns in a future release. Workday recommends that you use Engagement Builder for greater efficiency and visibility into your engagements. See Setup Considerations: Engagement Builder.
Security: At least 1 of these domains in the System functional area:
- Administer Campaigns
- Administer Scheduled Distributions
You can create an audience in advance so that you can use and reuse it when you configure audience details for these tasks:
- Create Campaign
- Create Scheduled Distribution
- Access theCreate Audiencetask.
- As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description Available forSelect the campaign or distribution type that you want to be able to use the audience for.When you select a campaign type, you can associate a category with the audience so that you can use the audience exclusively with campaigns of the same category.TypeSelect:- Custom Reportto use a custom report.
- The business object that the custom report data source is based on depends on the campaign or distribution type you select.
- When you select a custom report that enables you to set parameters on the report filters, specify the values in theReport Criteriagrid.
- Indexed data sources aren’t updated in real-time. A change in Workday may not appear in the report until the next indexing cycle. For time-sensitive campaigns, access theScheduled Future Processesreport to find your index refresh times. Schedule your campaign to run after the index process completes to ensure accurate data.
- Organizationto use a specific organization, including the associated subordinate organizations, as your audience.
- Saved Searchto use an existing saved search.
- Succession PoolorTalent Poolto use an existing pool, based on the facetedFind Workersreport.Workday supports only static Talent Pool types. Dynamic Talent Pool types don't return an audience.
When a worker meets the audience requirements for an active campaign or scheduled distribution, Workday sends them the notifications according to the schedule you defined.
Use the

task to deactivate audiences.
