Set Up Change Personal Information New User Experience

Set Up Change Personal Information New User Experience

We plan to retire the legacy change personal information experience in a future release. Workday recommends that you opt in early to get familiar with the updated user experience. See 2026R2 Feature Release Note: Change Personal Information New User Experience.
The new user experience for change personal information is a step-by-step guided workflow with a redesigned layout. You need to opt in to enable the new user experience. After you opt in, the new experience applies when you access personal information tasks or handle personal change events.
The new layout organizes personal information fields into groups that display based on field-level configuration. All the steps required to complete the change personal information task are displayed in the left-side panel. When active consent preferences for personal information is configured, the first step is
Change Active Consent Preferences
. The next step is
Change Personal Information
, where you can add, change, or remove values to editable fields. The final
Review and Submit
step is where you can identify and review any additions, modifications, or deletions you made. Your changes are permanently saved in Workday when you click
Submit
.
  1. Access the

    report.

    domain.
  2. For the
Change Personal Information - New User Experience
    feature, click
    Opt In to Feature
    .
  3. (Optional) For the user experience to apply to the
    Change Personal Information
task during onboarding, add only the
    Change Personal Information
    task to a
    Tasks
    step within the
    Onboarding
    business process.
If you consolidate more than 1 task in a
    Tasks
step, the new user experience doesn’t apply. Example: If you combine the
    Legal Name Change
    ,
    Preferred Name Change
    , and
    Change Personal Information
tasks, the consolidated task doesn’t use the new user experience.
  4. (Optional) Use Quick Tips to configure help text for personal information fields as needed. See Steps: Configure QuickTips using Guidance Workspace.
If you configured field-level help text using the
    Maintain Personal Information Help Text
task before opting in to the new experience, recreate the field-level help text using Quick Tips.
The user experience doesn’t change when you cancel, correct, or rescind a personal information change event.
The user experience applies when you:
  • Access the
    Change My Personal Information
    ,
    Edit Personal Information
    , or
    Edit Personal Information by Country
    tasks.
  • Approve or revise a personal information change event.
  • Initiate the
    Change Personal Information
    subprocess of the
    Onboarding
    business process.
  • View the event details of a personal information change event.
