Enable Multiple Shifts Per Day

Enable Multiple Shifts Per Day

Security:
Set Up: Scheduling: Maintain Scheduling Organizations
domain in the Scheduling functional area.
Workday can assign multiple consecutive shifts to workers who support multiple roles throughout a single day. Example: A worker is a sous chef from 9AM-11AM, a chef from 11AM-1PM, and a bartender from 1PM-3PM.
Workday follows the Minimum Shift Length and Maximum Shift Length validations that you’ve configured for each shift. When a worker is assigned multiple shifts in a day, the combined total of the shifts that Workday generates will be above the Minimum Daily Hours validation and below the Maximum Daily Hours validation.
Workday doesn’t place meals or breaks across shifts. Example: Shift 1 is from 9 AM to 11 AM and shift 2 is from 11 AM to 2 PM. Workday will place the break either within the first shift or within the second shift, based on meal and break rule sets.
