Video: Set Up Time Kiosk
Video Overview
This video shows how to set up the Workday Time Kiosk.
Script
So I just installed the Workday Time Kiosk app on my tablet, and I'm going to walk you through setting it up from scratch.
First thing it asks for is my
Organization ID
, so I'll type that in. Then it wants the Web Address
for our Workday tenant. This only has to happen once, when the device is first configured.Next it's asking for a
Manager Client ID
. Our administrator sent this over ahead of time over email, so I just opened up my email, copied over the manager client ID, and pasted it in here. Now it needs me to grant the kiosk access to Workday, so I'll tap
Login to Workday
. This drops me into the actual Workday sign-in page. I'll enter my manager credentials, username, and password, and sign in.Access is granted. Now it's pulling up the list of kiosk templates our company has set up. There are quite a few templates here, 1 for each location or use case, so I'll scroll down to find the one I need. I'm going to go with
Time Kiosk Template No Worktags
, since this device doesn't need employees selecting worktags at check in.Organization
and Device Name
: Now I just need to pick the organization this kiosk belongs to, I'll choose 6220 Property Management
, and give the device a name so I can identify it later. I'll call this one office 1
. Tap Apply Template
, and that finishes setup. And there it is. The kiosk is live. It's showing today's date and current time on the left, and on the right, it's ready for an employee to enter their ID.
Now let's say I'm an employee walking up to clock in. I'll enter my employee ID and tap
Log in
.It pulls up my profile, Ben Adams, Shipping and Receiving Associate, day shift, and it's ready for me to check in. The type is already set to
Worked Time
.I'll add a comment, just "Check in," though this is optional. And I'll tap
Check In
. There's my confirmation, "checked in at 5:01 PM," and it automatically returns to the ID screen for the next person. Now, as an admin, if I ever need to get back into the device settings, I'll tap the gear icon in the corner, which prompts me for a password. I'll enter that password and submit.
This brings up the configuration screen, so I can confirm everything's set up correctly: the device name; the integration system user; the device ID; and the template details, including the organization, time zone, and employee ID type. It also shows any worktags configured for this template, and down here at the bottom, the version build for the app.
And when I'm done, I'll head back out, and the kiosk is ready to go for the next employee.
Thank you for your time. I hope you found this useful as you’re setting up kiosks for your tenant.
