Concept: Development Items
Development items in Workday creates a space for workers to note their personal ambitions and expectations outside of their goals. Managers can also create development items for their team.
Example: Amy Frost is interested in the Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Canada position, and she needs to improve her French language skills so she can better communicate with her customers in Montreal. To keep herself accountable, Amy sets a development item to improve her French by the end of the year.
When you enable development items in Workday, workers and managers can:
- View, create, and update development items.
- Manage development items in theCareer Hub.
- Include development items in talent or employee reviews.
- Track changes in development items:
- For themselves, using theMy Development Items Changed in Last Week (Include Delete and Not Applicable)report.
- For their team members, using theMy Team’s Development Items Changed in Last Week (Include Delete and Not Applicable)report.
