Add International and Domestic Assignments
- Set up assignments.
- Hire the employee into a primary job or position.
You can send an employee on an international or domestic assignment by creating an additional position. These aspects of the assignment can differ from the primary job or position:
- Compensation rate.
- Job profile.
- Location.
- Pay rate.
- Scheduled hours.
- Supervisory organization. Examples; Company, Cost Center, Employee Belonging Council.
- Access theAdd Jobtask or theStart International Assignmenttask.Use theAdd Jobtask if your organization uses theAdd Additional Jobbusiness process for assignments.Use theStart International Assignmenttask if your organization uses theStart International Assignmentbusiness process for international assignments.Use theAdd Additional Jobbusiness process if an employee has multiple positions and the assignment is domestic. You can also useChange Jobfor a domestic assignment if you don’t need to track the home position.For an international assignment, you can use either theAdd Additional Jobbusiness process or theStart International Assignmenttask. Workday recommends that you use theAdd Additional Jobbusiness process for improved functionality.
- Select theSupervisory Organizationfor the assignment and theEmployee.
- Specify theStart DateandReason.
- If you use job requisitions, theStart Datemust be on or after theTarget Hire Dateon the job requisition.
- If you don't use job requisitions, theStart Datemust be on or after theHire Dateon the position.
- Complete theAssignment Detailssection.Workday populates many of these fields with values from the position or job requisition. If you use job requisitions, you can't change those values; update the job requisition itself.
