Steps: Set Up Ad Hoc Worker Communications

When you set up Ad Hoc Worker Communications in Workday, you can communicate with workers through email, mobile push notifications, and SMS. To use the SMS communication channel, you must have access to the Workday Messaging SKU.
- Edit Domain Security Policies.Configure a security policy for theAd Hoc Worker Communicationsdomain.
- Access theEdit Tenant Setup - Notificationstask.In Notification Delivery settings, selectHCMandAd Hoc Worker Communications. Select the check box to override parent notification type settings and clear the default rule. Create a notification routing rule and add your preferred communication channels with a default frequency ofImmediately.You must configure SMS notification settings before creating a notification routing rule if you want to send worker communications by SMS.
- (Optional) Set up Notification Designer.
- You must configure Notification Designer if you want to use notification templates to add email branding to worker messages.
- You can manage your notification templates using theMaintain Notification Templatestask. In theHCMtab, selectAd Hoc Worker CommunicationsinActive for Notification Typesfor your chosen templates.
- (Optional) Set up message templates to enable you to use precomposed text in worker messages.
- Modify the security policy for theSet Up: Message Templatesdomain and create a segment-based security group. Grant the group access rights to theAd Hoc Worker Communicationssegment.
- Access theCreate Message Templatetask, name your template, and selectAd Hoc Worker Communicationsas the notification category.

Send Worker Communications
task, or select a saved search and use the Send Worker Communications
button on the Find Workers
