Concept: Re-Enrollment for Cloud Connect for Learning Content
Workday provides specific controls and behaviors for how learners re-enroll in or retake external content sourced from Cloud Connect for Learning (CCL) partners. This functionality is determined by both your tenant configuration and whether the specific content provider supports repeat tracking.
Content Provider Support for Re-Enrollment
To maintain data integrity, Workday only supports formal re-enrollment for content providers that send new completion statements for retakes.
Workday automatically disables re-enrollment for content from these providers who don’t support repeat tracking:
- Edflex
- Harvard ManageMentor®
- LinkedIn Learning™
- Pluralsight
- Udacity
- Udemy
In these cases, learners see only the
View Content Again
option. This allows them to review the material without creating inconsistent enrollment records that the provider can't validate with a new completion statement.Re-Enrollment Behavior and Configuration
For providers that support re-enrollment, the learner experience on completed content is driven by the
Enable View Content Again On Successful Completion
setting in the Edit Tenant Setup - HCM
task.Enable View Content Again On Successful Completion Setting | Primary Option for Learners | Additional Behavior |
|---|---|---|
Enabled | View Content Again
| Learners can still choose Retake Course within the view-again pop-up to create a new enrollment. |
Disabled | Retake Course
| Clicking Retake Course immediately creates a new enrollment record for progress tracking. Learners can still choose View Course Again to re-watch the content without immediately creating a new enrollment. However, if the provider later sends a new completion or progress tracking statement for that learner, Workday might still need to create a new enrollment to align with the provider’s data. |
On the Workday Mobile application, supported providers display an
Enroll
button to facilitate retakes. For providers that don’t support repeat tracking, the retake option doesn't appear on mobile.Compliance Retraining in Programs
Organizations can manage recurring compliance requirements for CCL content by adding it to a learning program and utilizing the program's retraining settings.
- Tracking: Each retraining attempt generates a distinct enrollment record for supported providers, enabling the tracking of recurrent training.
- Mandatory Content: If you mark external content as mandatory for a provider that doesn't support repeat tracking, you must select theRecognize previous completionscheck box. Without this selection, the learner’s existing completion won't count, and they will be unable to complete the program because they can't re-enroll in that content from Workday.
