Your stock vesting schedule is available for attachment to a stock plan.
When an employee’s stock plan includes a stock vesting schedule with the
Stock Vesting Schedule Details
subgrid configured, Workday dynamically generates values in the Shares Vested
and Shares Unvested
columns in:
- TheMaintain Employee Stock Vestingtask.
- The employee’sStock Grantstable on their worker profile. To access this table, navigate to their worker profile and select .
You can identify the source of the values in the
Shares Vested
and Shares Unvested
columns based on the value of the Shares Calculated
column. If the value is:
- True: the values are dynamically generated from the stock plan’s stock vesting schedule.
- False: the values are manually entered. If you manually adjust the dynamically-generated values and then selectOK, theShares Calculatedcolumn displaysFalse.
In this example, your
Vest from Date
is 2024-01-01, and you’re granting 100 shares. Your vesting schedule consists of these 3 tranches with the Rounding Rule
set to round up to nearest 1:
Sequence | Number of Vesting Occurrences | Interval | Period | Percent of Shares to Vest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1a | 1 | 1 | Annual | 30 |
1b | 2 | 2 | Quarterly | 30 |
1c | 12 | 1 | Monthly | 40 |
According to this configuration, Workday will vest shares on these days:
The schedule continues to vest 3.333% of shares on the first of every month until all 100 granted shares are vested on 2027-01-1.
Vest Date | Percentage Vested | Cumulative Shares Vested (rounded) |
|---|---|---|
2025-01-01 | 30 | 30 |
2025-07-01 | 15 | 45 |
2026-01-01 | 15 | 60 |
2026-02-01 | 3.333 | 64 |
2026-03-01 | 3.333 | 67 |
2026-04-01... | 3.33 | 70 |
