Create Worktag Change Amendments

Create Worktag Change Amendments

  • Add
    Worktag Change
as a supplier contract lease amendment type. See Steps: Set Up Lease Accounting.
  • Configure the
    Supplier Contract Amendment Event
business process and security policy in the Supplier Contracts functional area.
You can update the worktags on the goods lines of your lease-type supplier contract for financial or operating lease contracts.
  1. From the related actions menu of a lease-type supplier contract, select
    Supplier Contract
    Create Lease Amendment
    .
  2. Complete the task:
    Option Description
    Amendment Type
    Select
    Worktag Change
    .
    Amendment Signed Date
Select a date that's the first day of the period that’s after the most recent expense recognition or supplier invoice accounting date.
You can select a date that's 1 period in the future.
Workday uses this date to determine:
    • When to apply the change in worktags to expense recognition and supplier invoice installments.
Example: The worktag change amendment signed date is 2025-09-01. Workday maintains the worktags for installments prior to this date and applies the change for future installments.
    • The remaining ROU asset and lease liability balances to reclassify.
    • The transaction effective date for business assets transfers.
  3. Click
    OK
    .
  4. In the
    Goods Lines
    tab, edit the
    Worktags
    for the applicable goods lines.
You can't change the spend category worktag.
  5. Click
    Submit
    .
After you approve the amendment, Workday applies the change in worktags only to future expense recognition and supplier invoice installments as of the amendment signed date.
For lease-type supplier contracts with a ROU asset depreciation expense accounting method, Workday initiates an
Asset Transfer Event
business process to transfer the business asset to the new worktags so that the worktags apply to future depreciation expense installments. For the transfer, Workday uses the:
  • Amendment signed date as the asset transfer effective date.
  • Depreciation convention configured for the asset book as the depreciation start date for this transfer.
Workday reclassifies:
  • The remaining ROU asset and lease liability balances for operating leases with a ROU asset operating expense accounting method. For multicurrency leases, Workday uses the currency rate of the initial recognition or the last initial recognition adjustment as the currency rate on the initial recognition adjustment for the amendment.
  • The remaining liability balances for the lease contracts with a ROU asset depreciation expense accounting method. For multicurrency leases, Workday uses the currency rate of the most recent initial recognition or initial recognition adjustment as the currency rate on the initial recognition adjustment for the amendment.
  • The asset cost and accumulated depreciation for lease contracts with a ROU asset depreciation expense accounting method.
