Reference: Tax Reconciliation Reports
These composite reports enable you to reconcile tax details on taxable transactions to tax ledger accounts.
Tax ledger accounts are the ledger accounts that you configure for these account posting rules:
- Transaction Tax
- Transaction Tax on Payment
The reports are secured the
Report Execution
domain in the Tenant Non-Configurable functional area. To view data in the reports, you also need access to the Reports: Transaction Tax
domain in these functional areas:
- Common Financial Management
- Customer Accounts
Tax Declaration to General Ledger Reconciliation
You can use this report after you create draft tax declarations to reconcile against each other:
- The net activity of tax accounts based on tax details for selected tax declarations.
- Tax ledger period activity for the selected tax authority.

Ledger Account | The report only includes ledger accounts that have reportable tax details.
Example: For VAT-on-payment transactions, we record tax at the time of invoice and at the time of payment. Since VAT is reportable at the time of payment, the report excludes tax details recorded at the time of invoice. |

When you use the accounting date as the tax declaration report date, you only need to review the Based on Accounting Date column. For any other tax declaration report date configuration, you only need to review the Based on Tax Point Date column. See Create Tax Declaration Components. |
Tax Reconciliation Initial Balances
You can use this report to identify discrepancies between expected initial tax balances based on tax details and adjusted ledger activity before the start of the initial period for reconciliation.

Tax Ledger Ending Balance
Total Ledger Activities Without Tax Details Adjusted Tax Ledger Ending Balance | Enables you to review the actual ledger activity before the initial period for reconciliation.
Workday calculates the adjusted tax ledger ending balances by deducting amounts for transactions booked to tax accounts that don't have tax details from tax ledger ending balances. Example: Payments booked to the ledger accounts with no tax details. |

Transaction Tax Reconciliation
You can use this report at period close to reconcile against each other:
- Expected ending tax balances based on period beginning balances and tax details created during the selected period.
- Adjusted tax ledger ending balances.
